Jenni - Director:
Director of the Hopewell Public Library, since 2001.
We work hard at making the library a welcoming place for everyone.
My job is most rewarding when I've helped someone find what they
are looking for or when a book I've suggested has been "so good"
or brought some pleasure or needed advice to a patron.
We seek your ideas and knowledge to keep the library moving forward.
We feel very lucky to be in such a positive environment.
If you want to contact me or any of the Staff, when you are not
in the Library, call 466-1625 or send email to: HPL@njstatelib.org
Barbara - Library Assistant:
Joined the Staff in 1995, after first being a Volunteer in 1994.
I am responsible for cataloging and processing new books
that are continuosly being added to our collection.
This provides the information for the Library's "Books, Books, Books" Blog.
Elisha - Chldren's Program Coordinator:
Joined the Staff in 2000, after first being a Volunteer.
Over the years, I have planned and executed many programs
for the children.
My responsibilities include leading the story time and
toddler time groups. The Paperwave program which I proudly
started offers, a chance for 7-10 year olds to show a
creative side. All of the library's programs are popular
and I feel privileged to have assisted in making these
programs possible. Over the summer, Catherine and I planned
a community scavenger hunt and this produced a vast interest
in our community treasures. This scavenger hunt will continue
next year due to the popularity of the program. I am proud to
have Kate assist me in planning more programs for children.
I also maintain the website, help at the front desk, create
bulletin boards and fliers to advertise our programs, plan
community gatherings and create many of the artwork projects.
Many parents say that some of my ideas remain special because
of the ingenuity of their children.
Elaine - Library Assistant:
Joined the Hopewell Public Library staff in December of 2002.
My responsibilities include InterLibrary Loans, Book Repair,
and Notification of past due books and fines. Each of these
tasks not only provide a necessary and useful service, but
keep me in touch with the patrons in a significant way,
which I enjoy very much. I am glad to contribute to the
library's goal of always putting the patrons first,
and providing them with all of their library needs.
I think that I'm very lucky to be part of the staff
and the community.
Requests for Inter-Library Loans can be made when you are
in the Library, using an "Inter-Library Loan" Request form,
by phoning the Library, or by email to: HPL@njstatelib.org
Loriann - Workshop Leader and Library Assistant:
I worked as a journalist and free-lance writer for a decade before earning an M.A. in English and Creative Writing from Rutgers University. My reviews, articles, and essays have appeared in Nouveau magazine, The New York Times, and Mademoiselle. I teach in the Writing Arts Department at Rowan University in Glassboro, NJ and for Rutgers University Continuing Writing in New Brunswick, NJ. I've worked at the library since 2003.
Catherine - Library Assistant:
I was a Volunteer from 2005-2006, and I've been a Library Assistant 2006-present.
Kate - Library Assistant:
Joined the Hopewell Public Library staff in August of 2007.
My responsibilities include: enter monthly statistics,
order library supplies, assist in organizing and planning
Story Time and other programs, assist in advertising library
programs, processing new fiction acquisitions, front desk,
maintaining reserve list, staff schedule and library calendars.
I enjoy being a part of the Red-Library team and a part of the
Hopewell Borough community. I love greeting members of the
community as they walk in the library door. The Library has
always been a warm and welcoming place for me and I hope to
create that same feeling for all our patrons. The library
serves the community in so many ways, it is fulfilling
to be a part of such a special place
Arnold - Information Technology Associate:
Joined the Staff in July, 2007, after initially volunteering in mid-2003.
As a Volunteer I helped the Library resolve a critical computer issue.
Continuing as a Volunteer, I established the Local Area Network and
Wireless WiFi Hotspot that enables all patron & staff, desktop & laptop
computers to have high-speed access to the Internet, the Web, and the
Library's high-speed printer.
My responsibilities include: provide technical training and support
for staff and patrons, including developing educational programs for
patrons; support, maintain, update library's website (www.redlibrary.org);
diagnose, troubleshoot, support, maintain, plan and implement upgrades for
the wired and wireless (WiFi) network of desktop and laptop computers for
library staff and patrons; support and develop upgrades to current library
operational data applications; plan and develop expanded library capacity
in areas such as data collection and statistics, patron databases, card
catalog, and network connectivity; and, other projects to satisfy the
needs of the Library's Patrons, Staff, Director and Trustees.
Hopefully, I can make information technology easier to use for everyone,
to provide the benefits of the technology.
Please feel free to contact me, when I am in the Library, via phone, or
