HPL Book Clubs
In addition to providing books for local, private book clubs, Hopewell Public Library hosts three in-library book groups that meet monthly.
First Monday of the Month Book Club
This congenial group chooses eleven books per year from both contemporary and classic fiction and nonfiction of all types. In April, poetry month, members bring their favorite poems to share. Led by a volunteer, the group suggests, discusses, and votes to decide on the books for the upcoming year.
During COVID 2020 - Meets virtually on the first Monday of every month, from 7 to 8 pm. Call or email the library for more information.
Cookbook Book Club
For each meeting, the Cookbook Book Club chooses a cookbook – classic, new, hot, or obscure. Each member cooks one dish from the book and brings it to the library so everyone can sit down together and discuss the book while eating a feast from the book’s recipes. Cooking has ranged from Julia Child to vegetarian to soul food and beyond.
During COVID 2020 - Currently dormant.
Meets on a Thursday evening every other month or so, from 6:30 to 8 pm, in the back reading area of the Library. Advanced registration is requested. Copies of the current book are available for check out.
