HPL Book Club
This group chooses one book a month from both contemporary and classic fiction and nonfiction of all types. Led by volunteers, the group suggests, discusses, and votes to decide on the books for the upcoming year.
The HPL Book Club's current selection is The Golem and the Jinni by Helene Wecker. The book club meets in the library on first Tuesday of every month (unless otherwise noted), from 6:30 to 8:00 pm. Call or email the library for more information. |
These book clubs are new, so we are still trying to figure out a good consistent meeting time! If you have suggestions for future meeting times, please reach out to the HPL. Materials will be provided, but spaces are limited so please register for these events. The next scheduled events are:

There are two separate bullet journaling clubs at the HPL. The Bullet Journal Book Club is for any adults 18+, while the School Planner Edition is for high school and college students ages 14-21. (18-21 year olds can go to either book club - or both!)
Bullet journals can act as a planner, give you space for your calendars and task lists, allow you to write personal reflections, and track your habits, moods, and goals. They can do as much (or as little) as you'd like. Need a sketchbook? Use a bullet journal! Want a reading log? Use a bullet journal! Need to budget, meal plan, keep a media list, track your exercise, or keep a casual scrapbook? You can! The possibilities are endless.
The School Planner Edition will do everything the adult program does, with a focus on creating personalized calendars for class and extracurricular schedules, keeping track of homework, and collecting notes and inspiration! If you have any questions, please call the library at (609) 466-1625 or email rschoener@redlibrary.org. |
Cookbook Book Club
After being dormant during 2021 due to COVID, we're back! For each meeting, the Cookbook Book Club chooses a cookbook – classic, new, hot, or obscure. Each member cooks one dish from the book and brings it to the library so everyone can sit down together and discuss the book while eating a feast from the book’s recipes. Cooking has ranged from Julia Child to vegetarian to soul food and beyond. Meets on a Tuesday evening every other month or so, from 6:30 to 8 pm, in the back reading area of the Library. Advanced registration is requested. Copies of the current books are available for perusal. This Month's Cookbook Selection:
