HPL Staff and Volunteers
Library Volunteers
The Hopewell Public Library could not stay open without the dedicated volunteers who work beside the staff on every shift, helping patrons, shelving books, assisting with programs, and doing special projects.
Volunteer shifts can last from two to five hours per week. Over time, each volunteer is trained on various aspects of the library: the shelving system, the library software, opening and closing procedures, covering books, assisting patrons with computers and other equipment. Currently. volunteers with special interests and talents provide support for staff in the areas of publicity, Children's programming, and Interlibrary Loan.
